Poulton Research Project - Medieval Cheshire and More Kevin Cootes, Consultant Archaeologist, Poulton Research Project
Poulton is a small farming hamlet just outside Chester with a fascinating archaeological story to tell. Over the past twenty years, archaeologists from the Poulton Research Project have been uncovering the remains of over 10,000 years of human activity. Kevin Cootes, Consultant Archaeologist and Site Director will talk about some of the exciting discoveries on the site.

The Blackden Trust

Henry Owen-John, the Head of International Advice at Historic England and a trustee of the Blackden Trust, will talk about the origins of UNESCO, how the World Heritage Convention came into being, discuss what World Heritage Site status involves and explore the extent to which local communities engage with it. The talk will be illustrated with examples from a diverse range of spectacular World Heritage Sites in the UK and beyond.
